Procedure: Finding the absolute URL

An absolute url is the full internet address of a Web page. It includes a protocol, such as "http" or "https", network location, path, and file name e.g. https://help.uct.ac.za/gi/uctgi.htm.

Add help topics to Favorites in Governance Intranet, for example: procedures or report definitions that you might forget or need to refer to occasionally.

Procedure

  1. In the right-hand topic pane:

  2. Right click and select Properties.

  1. In the Properties dialog box:

  2. Highlight the absolute URL (from http to htm) in the Address (URL) field.

  3. Right click and select Copy or use the keyboard shortcut CTRL+C

  4. Click OK to close this dialog box.

  1. Navigate to the place you want to paste the absolute URL (e.g. an e-mail or Microsoft Teams chat)

  2. Right click and select Paste or use the keyboard shortcut CTRL+V
