Procedure: Adding Professional Activities

Introduction

The Professional Activities sub-category is where one can list various professional activities that one has been involved with over the years.

Each entry is listed by Description and Year/s. There is no restriction on the total number of entries you may add.

Each Professional Activities entry requires at least a Description to be entered.

Procedure

1. Log in to the UCT Research Portal website with your UCT network credentials.

2. In the Researcher Profiles – Home page, click Professional Activities sub-category.

3. The Researcher Profiles – Professional Activities page opens.

Adding a professional activity entry

• Click Add New under Professional Activities.    

4. The Add a Professional Activities dialog box appears.

• Enter the description in the Description field.

• Enter the year or years in the Year/s field.

• If this falls into the category of engaged scholarship, ensure that the Engaged Scholarship check box is selected.

Saving and adding another a professional activity entry, if applicable

• If you want to add another professional activity, click Save & Add Another and repeat from Adding a professional activity entry .

• Click Save & Close.

• The following message displays briefly: “Information successfully saved.”

5. The Researcher Profiles – Professional Activities page reopens.

6. If necessary, click up / down arrows under Change order to sort the Professional Activities listing by priority.
