Printing a CV will create the Microsoft Word output of the selected CV. Once the Microsoft Word document has been downloaded and opened in the Microsoft Word, one may send the document to your local network printer, if required.
Log in to the UCT Research Portal website with your UCT network credentials.
Click Compile CV on the Action Menu.
The Research Profiles – CV Templates page opens listing your compiled CVs.
Click
Print next to the CV
you wish to create the Microsoft Word output of.
You may need to allow this popup to open in your web browser by adding the Research Portal website to your allowed sites list.
The names of the dialog boxes below are as it occurs in Internet Explorer, if you are using a different browser they may differ.
The Do you want to open or save <CV name> dialog box dialog box appears.
Select Save.
The selected file is downloaded.
The <item name> download has completed dialog box appears.
Select Open.
In Microsoft Word:
The CV document appears in protected view.
If necessary, click Enable Editing.
A warning dialog box may appear: "This document contains fields that may refer to other files. Do you want to update the fields in this document?"
Click Yes.
The CV document reappears with the content populated according to the Compile CV selections.
If necessary, review and make any required changes to the CV.
To print your CV on your local network printer:
Click File ® Print.
Click
Print.
Click
Save to save any changes
made to your CV.
Click
Close to close your CV.
