The Contact Details sub-category allows for the updating of various contact information, including links to your online presence such as websites and social media.

Log in to the UCT Research Portal website with your UCT network credentials.
In the Researcher Profiles – Home page, click on the Contact Details sub-category.
The Researcher Profiles – Contact Details page opens.
In the Institution extendable select field, enter or select your institution name.
In the Is this the organisation that funds your salary? field:
If this is the organisation that funds your salary, select the Yes radio button.
If this is not the organisation that funds your salary, select the No radio button.
In the Primary organisation that funds your salary extendable select field, enter or select your organisation name.
Enter your Faculty in the Faculty field.
Enter your Department/School/Institute in the Department/School/Institute field.
Enter your other affiliations in the Other Affiliations field.
In the Accept SMS communications from the NRF field:
If you wish to accept SMS communications from the NRF, select the check box.
If you do not wish to accept SMS communications from the NRF, clear the check box.
Click Save Changes (at the bottom of the page) before editing the Work Postal Address.
Click Edit Work Postal Address.
The Edit Work Postal Address dialog box appears.
Enter your address details in the Address fields.
Enter your city / town in the City / Town field.
Enter your postal code in the Postal code field.
Select your province from the Province / State drop-down list field.
Select your country from the Country drop-down list field.
Click Save & Close.
The following message displays briefly: “Address successfully updated.”
The Researcher Profiles – Contact Details page reopens.
Click Save Changes (at the bottom of the page) before editing the Work Physical Address.
Click Edit Work Physical Address.
The Edit Work Physical Address dialog box appears.
Enter your address details in the Address fields.
Enter your city / town in the City / Town field.
Select your province from the Province / State drop-down list field.
Select your country from the Country drop-down list field.
Click Save & Close.
The following message displays briefly: “Address successfully updated.”
The Researcher Profiles – Contact Details page reopens.
Click Save Changes (at the bottom of the page) before editing the Home Address.
Click Edit Home Address.
The Edit Home Address dialog box appears.
Enter your address details in the Address fields.
Enter your city / town in the City / Town field.
Enter your postal code in the Postal code field.
Select your province from the Province / State drop-down list field.
Select your country from the Country drop-down list field.
Click Save & Close.
The following message displays briefly: “Address successfully updated.”
The Researcher Profiles – Contact Details page reopens.
Enter your work telephone number in the Communications: Work Telephone field in the required format.
Enter your primary email address in the Communications: Primary Email Address field in the required format.
Enter your alternative email address in the Communications: Alternative Email Address field in the required format.
Enter the web address (URL) of your personal website in the Communications: Personal Web Address field in the required format.
Enter your mobile telephone number in the Communications: Mobile Number field in the required format.
Enter your fax number in the Communications: Fax Number field in the required format.
Select your NRF Rating from the Research Identities: NRF Rating drop-down list field.
Enter your Researcher ID in the Research Identities: Researcher Id field.
Enter your ORCID ID in the Research Identities: Orcid Id field.
Enter your Scopus Author ID in the Research Identities: Scopus Author Id field.
Click Save Changes (at the bottom of the page) before adding a Professional Website.
Click Add.
Enter the website name in the Website Name field.
Enter the web address (URL) in the URL field.
If you want to add another professional website, click Save & Add Another and repeat from step 10.
Click Save & Close.
The following message displays briefly: “Professional Website was successfully updated.”
The Researcher Profiles – Contact Details page reopens.
Click Save Changes (at the bottom of the page) before adding an Online Communication.
Click Add.
Enter the communication type (e.g. Twitter) in the Communication Type field.
Enter your handle / user name in the Handle / User Name field.
If you want to add another online communication, click Save & Add Another and repeat from step 12.
Click Save & Close.
The following message displays briefly: “Online Communication was successfully updated.”
The Researcher Profiles – Contact Details page reopens.
Click Save Changes.
