Procedure: Finding the absolute URL

Introduction

An absolute URL is the full internet address of a web page. It is displayed in the web address area of your web browser and includes:

  • a protocol (Example: "http" or "https")

  • network location or path

  • file name

If you wish to add help topics to an email or on a department web page, for example, or make procedures or processes accessible to your colleagues to refer to occasionally, you will need to find the absolute URL of the web page.
