is used to indicate...

Screen text (Italic)

words or characters you see on the screen such as: field names, screen titles, menu names and menu items.

User entry (Bold)

exactly what you should type in a field.

<variable user entry>

replace what is in the bracket with the appropriate entry, e.g. replace <Current Year> with 2019.

ALL CAPITALS (normal caps)

report names, program names, transaction codes, table names, coding language elements, file names and directories.

KEY NAME (small caps)

keys on your keyboard, e.g. F2 and ENTER. CTRL + C means press the CTRL and C keys simultaneously.
