An absolute url is the full internet address of a Web page. It includes a protocol, such as "http," network location, path, and file name e.g. http://help.uct.ac.za/rp/uctrp.htm.
Add help topics to an e-mail or on a department web page for example: procedures or processes that you want to make accessible to colleagues or to refer to occasionally.
In the right-hand topic pane:
Right click and select Properties.
In the Properties dialog box:
Highlight the absolute URL (from http to htm) in the Address (URL) field.
Right click and select Copy or use the keyboard shortcut CTRL+C
Click OK to close this dialog box.
Navigate to the place you want to paste the absolute URL e.g. an e-mail.
Right click and select Paste or use the keyboard shortcut CTRL+V
In the left-hand navigation pane:
Right click on the topic and select Copy Link Location.
Navigate to the place you want to paste the absolute URL e.g. an e-mail.
Right click and select Paste or use the keyboard shortcut CTRL+V.
In the left-hand navigation pane:
Right click on the topic and select Copy link address.
Navigate to the place you want to paste the absolute URL e.g. an e-mail.
Right click and select Paste or use the keyboard shortcut CTRL+V.
