Procedure: Resolving Potential Duplicate scholarly outputs

Procedure

1. Log in to the UCT Research Portal website with your UCT network credentials.

2. Click Scholarly Outputs.

2. The Scholarly Outputs – Home  page loads.

3. Click Potential Duplicates.

3. The Scholarly Outputs – Potential Duplicate Scholarly Outputs page opens with a side-by-side comparison of the existing scholarly output citation and the new potential duplicate scholarly output citation.

• Click Edit under Resolve next to the existing scholarly output citation.

4. The Resolve Potential Duplicate - <category name> opens.

5. Click Transfer to Existing next to each field where you wish to transfer information from the new record to the existing record.

In the Options for resolution of potential duplicates section:

• Either select Keep existing record and discard the new record.

• Or select Keep both records.

• Click Resolve conflict.

5. The Scholarly Outputs – Home page reopens.
