Overview: Compiling a CV and using CV templates

Introduction

The Compile CV item on the action menu provides the facility to collate selected information entered in the Researcher Profile and Scholarly Outputs and compile it into a Microsoft Word document CV output and/or online web profile.

There are four CV templates provided which standardise the format of the Microsoft Word document or online CV output: Full CV, Short CV, NIH, and Web Profile.

Full CV

  • Usually much longer than the short CV so has a table of contents.

  • Usually provides a comprehensive record of your academic career.

  • Can be 'themed' according to different research interests or pursuits.

Short CV

  • Usually a maximum of two to three pages.

  • Usually used for grant applications.  

  • Usually outlines the main highlights of your academic career without too much detail.

  • Can be 'themed' according to different research interests or pursuits.
