You need to have created a RIS file using your specific reference manager system (e.g. RefWorks, EndNote, Mendeley).
You need to have exported the RIS file from the reference manager system and saved it to your computer.
When uploading a RIS file, the Scholarly Outputs module checks for UCT authors in the records and add in staff numbers for those authors which are recognised by the system. However, these may not always be correct due to the author information in the RIS file not necessarily being unique. It is therefore important when moderating to check each author to ensure that the system assigned the correct staff number, if applicable.
